Become a Mediators without Borders Certified Mediator or an MwB Certified ADR Specialist

Students may become an MwB Certified Mediator by completing an additional 60 hour internship. Students who have taken the ADR Specialist 3 course program may add this internship to their program to become an MwB Certified ADR Specialist. The internship program is available to any alumni of the MwB CORE Mediation or ADR Specialist course of study. Now, we are making this available to anyone who has taken an equivalent program of study through an approved provider. The internship includes access to the MwB International Society website.

Requirements for MwB Certified Mediator

  • Completion of MwB CORE Mediation course or proof of equivalent through approved provider
  • Successful completion of MwB Internship and Career Development Program
  • MwB 670 Internship and Career Development Program
    The internship experience is considered one of the most important professional activities in which students engage during a career studies program. Internship students are given opportunities to synthesize and apply knowledge gained in their course of study and other academic pursuits. Through the sharing of experiences in both group and individual supervision, students may refine previously learned skills and acquire new skills.
  • The MwB internship is designed to facilitate refinement of mediation and dispute resolution skills learned in MwB coursework and to facilitate the development of new skills. Through consultation and one-to-one and group conflict resolution experiences, the student can expand his or her repertoire of ADR techniques and interpersonal communication skills.

    Through the utilization of the MwB online technologies, students will be given an opportunity to experience direct and specific feedback from faculty through the use of video and audio recording and group case management presentations.
  • Internship students must have Skype technology for online faculty and group supervision which includes webcam and microphone
